India’s EOT Crane Sector Gathers Global Momentum on the Back of Infrastructure Boom

Infrastructure

India’s overhead and gantry crane market, valued at approximately $180 million in 2024, is projected to reach $320 million by 2033 at a CAGR of 6.57 per cent, a trajectory driven by the country’s $1.4 trillion National Infrastructure Pipeline and rapid expansion across steel, automotive, ports, and logistics sectors.

Domestic EOT crane manufacturers, long confined to serving the home market, are increasingly finding international traction. Manufacturing clusters across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi-NCR have matured considerably, with companies building deep expertise in customised solutions for demanding industrial environments, a capability that off-the-shelf European and Japanese alternatives have struggled to replicate cost-effectively. Established players including ElectroMech, Indef, and LOADMATE have expanded their installed base across multiple continents, with international buyers increasingly evaluating Indian-built cranes on performance and lifecycle economics rather than country of origin.

The shift aligns with India’s broader industrial repositioning, from cost-competitive assembler to engineering-capable exporter, with the EOT crane segment emerging as a quiet but increasingly representative example of that transition.
