HHMC Wins Port Louis Crane Contract

Port Louis Crane

Cargo Handling Corporation Ltd. (CHCL), which operates the container terminal at Port Louis, has signed a contract with Qingdao Hisea Heavy-Duty Machinery Co. (HHMC) for the supply of two Super Post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes and five hybrid rubber-tyred gantry cranes.

The contract will add new cargo-handling equipment to the Port Louis container terminal. The STS cranes are designed to support ship-to-shore container operations, while the hybrid RTGs will be used for container handling and stacking within the terminal.

HHMC, formerly known as Qingdao Haixi Heavy-Duty Machinery, will manufacture and supply the equipment under the contract. The investment is expected to strengthen the terminal’s cargo-handling capability and support its ongoing container operations.
