Adani Ports Deploys AI Automation Across Container Terminals

Adani Ports

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) is expanding the use of artificial intelligence and automation across its container terminal network as part of a major digital transformation initiative. The company has partnered with US-based technology provider Kaleris to deploy advanced terminal operating systems and AI-powered solutions across 15 terminals at nine ports in India and overseas.

The upgraded platform is aimed at improving container handling, crane productivity, vessel turnaround times and truck movement within port terminals. By integrating AI-driven planning and real-time operational data, APSEZ expects to enhance efficiency, optimise cargo flow and strengthen overall port performance while supporting future capacity expansion.

The initiative marks a significant step in India’s port modernisation journey, with automation playing a key role in improving logistics efficiency and global competitiveness. The company estimates that the technology deployment will help unlock an additional 91 million metric tonnes of cargo handling capacity by 2030, supporting India’s growing maritime trade and infrastructure ambitions.
