Manut Services has replaced an old hoist with a new 2.5-tonne VT1 birail wire rope hoist from Verlinde Lifting Equipment at a customer site in France’s Tonnerois region. The new hoist was installed on an existing double-girder overhead crane.

Technicians removed the previous hoist trolley and installed the new unit before completing the required electrical and mechanical connections. The crane system was then tested by Manut Services and an independent inspection body before being returned to service.

The Verlinde VT1 hoist is equipped with a galvanised steel wire rope, a rotating hook with a safety latch, enhanced motor cooling, and a standard overload limiter. These crane modernisation projects in India’s lifting and material-handling sector illustrate how replacing outdated hoists can enhance the reliability and safety of existing overhead crane systems without requiring a complete crane replacement.
