Baltic Hub has received two new electric rail-mounted gantry cranes at its rail yard in Gdańsk, Poland. Once operational, the cranes are expected to increase the terminal’s annual rail-siding handling capacity to 1.2 million TEUs.

The two cranes will become the fifth and sixth RMG units supporting the terminal’s rail operations. Baltic Hub’s rail siding has seven tracks with a combined length of 5.25 km, while the terminal currently handles nearly 800 trains each month.

The cranes are equipped with optical character recognition for identifying container numbers, anti-collision systems, and 11 cameras. They also include spreader micro-movements for precise container positioning and emergency winch brakes, which enhance safety and efficiency in rail-side container handling.
