YILPORT has reported a 21% increase in crane productivity at its Gebze terminal after introducing Kaleris’ RTG optimisation technology. The system has been rolled out across 31 rubber-tired gantry cranes at the terminal.
The technology uses real-time information on vessel, truck, and yard activity to help decide where cranes are needed. YILPORT said the system has reduced unnecessary crane movements and idle time while making better use of the available equipment. The productivity improvement was achieved within three months.
Following the results at Gebze, YILPORT plans to introduce the technology at three more terminals in Portugal and Sweden. The rollout will also cover remotely operated RTG cranes.
