PSA Singapore has received the final batch of automated rail-mounted gantry cranes (aRMGs) for Phase 1 of Tuas Port. The delivery marks the completion of a six-year procurement and installation programme that began in 2020.

With the final cranes in place, Phase 1 now has a total fleet of 208 automated yard cranes. The cranes are used for container stacking and yard positioning while supporting the movement of containers across the terminal and improving yard operations.

The deployment was carried out through a phased programme, despite facing supply chain disruptions during the project’s early stages. PSA stated that completing this phase is a major step in expanding the port’s operations, with the involvement of engineering teams, industry partners, and port unions throughout the project.
