RIKON has completed the installation of two remote-controlled Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) container cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 40 tonnes. The cranes are equipped with the company’s in-house developed RROS (RIKON Remote Operation System), marking a significant step forward in terminal automation and operational efficiency.
The upgraded facility serves as an important logistics hub, handling large volumes of intermodal cargo and supporting the movement of containers between ports and inland transport networks. The new cranes enable operators to control equipment remotely through dedicated workstations, improving precision, productivity and workplace safety.
According to RIKON, the project represents a major milestone in the modernization and digitalization of container handling operations. The company said the remote-control technology is designed to enhance operational performance while creating a safer and more efficient working environment for crane operators.
