Jinhui Shipping and Transportation has ordered two new 64,500 DWT bulk carriers from Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering for a combined $71.4 million. The order is part of the company’s fleet renewal and expansion programme, with each vessel priced at $35.7 million.

The two vessels will be built to the same specifications and are scheduled for delivery by September 30, 2029. Jinhui said the ships will feature tailor-made designs and meet the latest maritime regulations, with improved fuel and operating efficiency compared with its existing bulk carriers.

Around 65% of the purchase cost is expected to be financed through bank loans, with the balance coming from the company’s internal resources. Once delivered, the vessels will be chartered to third parties for transporting dry bulk commodities.
