Hoist UK has designed and installed a customised dual-bridge crane system featuring two single-girder bridges, each with a rated capacity of 1,000kg. The freestanding system was developed for an undisclosed customer to provide greater flexibility and safer load handling across the work area.

The crane structure has a 5.2-metre bridge span and an 18-metre runway, with two Verlinde VX electric chain hoists. The system uses manual travel for crane movements, while powered lifting is available at two speeds of 4 m/min and 1 m/min. An enclosed power feed system has also been installed along the bridge and runway tracks.

The development is pertinent to India’s growing manufacturing, engineering, and industrial sectors, where flexible overhead lifting systems play a crucial role in efficient material handling.
