AkelCrane has supplied four 20-tonne double-girder overhead crane systems to Norden Shipyard in Sluiskil, the Netherlands. The cranes will support the shipyard’s ship maintenance and repair operations.
The project covered the complete process, including crane design, manufacturing, delivery, and on-site installation. Norden Shipyard, formerly known as De Schroef, operates along the Terneuzen Canal and provides maintenance and repair services for more than 100 vessels and offshore platforms each year.
The shipyard manages conversion projects and performs mechanical and electrical work, as well as cleaning, blasting, and painting. It also handles work on shaft, propeller, and rudder systems. Additionally, the recent crane supply enhances lifting capacity to support ongoing shipyard operations.
