Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP) has received its ninth ship-to-shore (STS) crane at the Port of Montevideo. The new crane is an 85-metre-high super post-Panamax unit manufactured by ZPMC and is designed to handle larger container vessels.

The crane features a 62-metre boom, a distance of 22 metres between the rails, and a maximum lifting height of 46.5 metres. It is capable of handling vessels that carry up to 22 rows of containers, with a lifting capacity of 65 tonnes in twin-lift mode and 75 tonnes when using a hook.

TCP said the new crane is part of its ongoing investment in port infrastructure and equipment. The addition is expected to strengthen the terminal’s ability to handle larger vessels operating on international maritime routes.
