Tamil Nadu Launches New Cargo Facility at Cuddalore Port

Cuddalore Port

The Tamil Nadu Maritime Board has launched a new cargo handling facility at Cuddalore Port, representing a significant advancement in the enhancement of the state’s coastal logistics infrastructure. This facility aims to improve cargo movement, foster industrial growth, and bolster coastal shipping operations in the region.

The new terminal is designed to handle a variety of cargo, improving the port’s operational efficiency and reducing dependence on larger ports for regional cargo movement. Officials said the project will help attract more trade, create employment opportunities, and support industries located in and around Tamil Nadu.

The development is expected to boost coastal shipping and improve logistics connectivity across southern India. Industry experts believe the upgraded cargo handling infrastructure will also increase demand for modern cranes, material handling equipment, and port logistics services as cargo volumes continue to grow.
