BCT Gdynia Takes Delivery of Two New ZMPC Cranes

ZMPC

The Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) at the Port of Gdynia has taken delivery of two new quay cranes manufactured by ZMPC, marking a major step in the terminal’s ongoing modernization program. The cranes are scheduled to be fully commissioned in June 2026 and form part of a broader investment aimed at increasing the port’s handling capacity and operational efficiency.

The new cranes feature a lifting height of 55 metres, a reach across 25 rows of containers, and a lifting capacity of up to 75 tonnes under a hook. With these capabilities, BCT will be able to handle all vessel sizes currently operating in the Baltic Sea, supporting larger and more demanding container operations.

According to BCT, the investment will improve cargo handling efficiency, increase operational predictability, and strengthen the Port of Gdynia’s position as a key logistics hub in the Baltic region. The project is supported by Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and is part of a wider programme of infrastructure upgrades taking place across the port.
